PLEXIMUS – Obsolescence and Inventory Management

SPIE Global Services Energy has developed PLEXIMUS, an Obsolescence Management Tool used to track inventory and associated lifecycle status for our Clients. PLEXIMUS is typically used in conjunction with our services, to provide a more efficient and consistent approach to obsolescence management.

The features of PLEXIMUS can be summarised as follows:

Manages a detailed inventory of the Client’s installed systems
Records Client’s judgments on the criticality and performance of each system
Maintains vendor-supplied information about the availability, support and lifecycle roadmap
Generates a priority and timeframe for the upgrade or replacement of each system
Generates cost estimates and lead times for replacement or upgrade of individual equipment items
Allows a comparison to be made between two different “cutover scenarios”
Provides reporting functions allowing end users to see prioritised lists of upgrade activities
Compatible with IOGP 551 recommended practice released for review in 2016

Any asset type
Visibility on equipment
Planned maintenance
Data export
Risk mitigation
Long term budgeting
Lifecycle management

PLEXALARM – Alarm Rationalisation and Management

PLEXALARM is an internally developed vendor independent alarm management package that was developed as an efficiency tool to replace the traditional approaches to Alarm Objective Analysis studies and implementations.

It holds all Alarm Objective Analysis data and can be pre-populated for Alarm Rationalisation workshops to save time and effort during the workshop.

The tool is configurable for individual Clients and control systems and incudes the following headline features:

Multiple Views (Point detail and table view)
Alarm update and Action Item reports.
Alarm groups.
Event log for tracking alarm changes with unique log ins.
Tree view groups including all points, asset, drawing, alarm group and workpack.

Commissioning and completions iconCommissioning and completions

Commissioning and completions

Globally, SPIE Oil and Gas is one of the largest providers of Commissioning Services for oil and gas projects and operations. We offer a range of commissioning and completions services from planning, pre-commissioning, completions, handover and transition to operations.

We offer an integrated solution using our inhouse developed Commissioning Management System E-PCIS. E-PCIS manages commissioning activities between multiple EPC contractors on a single platform regardless of individual CMS used by others.

The key benefits of E-PCIS are:

Suitable for all project validation and completion methodologies
Independent from any Vendor, Software provider, EPCC, etc
Developed by commissioning experts with practical features
Enhanced and customizable reporting capabilities
Complete library of pre-commissioning and commissioning checks and tests
Allows integration of the Project Owners methodology with the EPCC tests and checks library
Adaptable “tree hierarchy structure” based on project breakdown
Maximum flexibility to allow various levels of detail for each package and EPCC
Allows integrated reporting across different EPCC on the same project

Projects completed by our team in Australia include Cliffhead offshore and onshore, Gorgon and Wheatstone LNG plants commissioning support, Shell QGC upstream CSG wells, compressor stations and water treatment facilities. We are now working with mining and process industries to support them with commissioning and shutdown activities.

In the downstream sector, we have managed the commissioning of four major petrochemical refineries in the Middle East – SATORP, YASREF, PETRO RABIGH and KNPC, each project extending over a number of years and involving up to 700 personnel.

Our commissioning teams continue to work on new build projects in Korea and other Asian shipyards, ranging from FPSO’s to platforms where we have been part of the asset owners commissioning team. We have also been part of onshore and offshore commissioning projects in Bangladesh, Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and West Africa.
